Date published: 26 December 2010

Train passengers in Greater Manchester are being advised to plan ahead if they are travelling on 27 and 28 December.
Industrial action is planned by members of the RMT union who work for Northern Rail, which is likely to disrupt the company's services on 27 and 28 December.
If the strike goes ahead, Northern Rail services in Greater Manchester will be disrupted, with some trains delayed, cancelled or diverted.
GMPTE has worked with Northern Rail in planning its response to the strike and some limited services will be available on some routes between 9am and 6pm on the two days.
In Greater Manchester, Northern Rail is planning a restricted service on the following routes:
Wigan-Bolton-Manchester Victoria Manchester Victoria-Rochdale Manchester Piccadilly-Glossop Manchester Piccadilly-Marple Manchester Piccadilly-Manchester Airport
Northern Rail's website has more details about services and it has also set up a helpline for people to call: www.northernrail.org or 0845 00 00 125.
Passengers are advised to take into account the risk of disruption when planning journeys, to allow for extra time for travel and to check services at the web address or phone number above before setting off.
