Still room at police inn this Christmas

Date published: 24 December 2010

The Christmas message from Greater Manchester Police is that there is still room at their Drunken Disorderly Inn right the way through Christmas and the New Year for people who indulge in alcohol-fuelled violence and antisocial behaviour.

The Force recently launched a spoof hotel-chain style website that features tongue-in-cheek videos, photographs and information on what it is like to be arrested, booked into custody and spend a night in a prison cell.

Thousands have visited www.drunkendisorderlyinn.com since it was launched and it has been widely shared through social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

Officers say that though they are delighted that extra patrols and the cold weather at the weekend kept trouble in city and town centres to a minimum they will have no hesitation in booking people who spoil a good night out for others into their local custody suite.
