Rochdale Christmas Lights
Christmas is almost upon us and Greater Manchester is awash with twinkling fairy lights, and trees layered with tinsel, but which of the region’s ten boroughs is really the most festive?
To celebrate Greater Manchester’s seasonal spirit, System One Travelcards, the bus travelcard provider, is giving the people of the region the opportunity to nominate their local area as the most festive in Greater Manchester.
System One is urging people from across the region to submit pictures capturing how they are celebrating – from decorating Christmas trees and holding family parties, to enjoying brass band performances or covering their homes in fairy lights – to boost their area’s festive credentials. Pictures can be emailed, or posted directly to the OneManchester Facebook page.
As well as announcing Greater Manchester’s most festive borough, System One will also award the person submitting the most festive image with an Annual BusSaver, worth up to £660.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on Thursday 6 January, after which the winner will be announced.
Allie Johns, from System One travelcards, said: “Every corner of Greater Manchester is gearing up for Christmas. Trees and decorations are up, snow is on its way and everyone’s getting into the festive spirit
“We ‘d like people to share the celebrations happening in their local area, and spread the Christmas cheer far and wide.”
