Singers raise funds for hospice

Date published: 20 December 2010

Twenty enthusiastic singers from various Rochdale Churches braved the cold to sing carols for shoppers at Cutgate Precinct on Saturday (18 December 2010) and collected £65 for Springhill Hospice.

The singers were led by Rev Brian Drury, minister of Cutgate Baptist Church and ably accompanied by Glenys Thomasson on the keyboard.

Churches Together in North West Rochdale (CTiNWR) have also distributed some 9000 Christmas cards to all homes, sending Christian Christmas greetings and times of Christmas services in all the eleven Churches in the area.

CTiNWR is an ecumenical group comprising these churches: St Paul's Norden, St Michael's Bamford, St Clement's Spotland, St George's Oakenrod, St James' Ashworth, St Vincent's RC Norden, Spotland Methodist, Norden Methodist, Bamford Chapel URC, Norden URC and Cutgate Baptists.
