The 17th annual Rochdale Music Service ‘Christmas Cracker’
Over 700 school children from 40 primary schools attended the 17th annual Rochdale Music Service ‘Christmas Cracker’ at Gracie Fields Theatre.
The event was an outstanding success with the children sharing the stage with 13 bands and five choirs from the Music Service.
The cracker was made up of three concerts which were watched by over 2000 people. Each concert ended with the traditional on stage snowball fight!
Richard Charles from Rochdale Music Service said:“I would like to congratulate everyone involved in all three of the concerts. I am extremely grateful to the small army of tireless volunteers that help out in hundreds of different ways in order to contribute to the success of events such as this. It was fantastic to see so many people being able to share in this joyous day of music making!”
The evening concert was compèred by Ken Davies MBE and was attended by the Mayor, Mayoress and MP Simon Danczuk alongside the Council’s Executive Director for Children’s Services, Cheryl Eastwood.
