School children meet Beauty and the Beast cast

Date published: 16 December 2010

Pupils from St Mary’s CE Primary, Balderstone were invited on stage to meet members of the cast from Beauty and the Beast at their school visit to Middleton Arena.

Over 230 children from the school enjoyed a special pre-Christmas treat as Beauty and the Beast – the Pantomime – makes its debut in Middleton this year.

This spectacular fairytale pantomime for all the family brings to the stage a “tale as old as time” but with the special twists and turns that only happen in Panto Lane.

This fabulous new show from the nationally acclaimed Mark Andrews Productions is an all new show on stage in the great surroundings of the Middleton Arena with its 500 seat purpose built auditorium.

With a cast picked from many of the London West End’s biggest shows the children enjoyed a mix of glittering costumes and wonderful comic performances from the traditional overdressed pantomime dame, a flying witch and a host of other colourful characters.

There were plenty of familiar numbers and traditional audience participation as well as crowd pleasing appearances from “Wagner” and “Harry Hill”.
