No bin collection changes this Christmas

Date published: 16 December 2010

There’s no need to check if there are any bin collection changes this Christmas and New Year. Just put your bins out by 7am on the day of your bin collection as usual.

All bins across the Rochdale borough will be collected as scheduled except brown garden waste bins. Garden waste collections were suspended on 7 December until the end of February as part of Rochdale Borough Council’s efforts to save money.

Garden waste and any rubbish that won’t fit in your refuse and recycling bins can be taken to any of the three household waste recycling centres in the Rochdale borough:

  • Chichester Street, Rochdale OL16 2AU. Telephone 01706 643871
  • Springvale, Middleton M24 2HQ. Telephone 0161 653 5271
  • Peel Lane, Heywood OL10 4PR.Telephone 01706 364956

They are open 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Mark Widdup, Service Director for Environmental Management at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “It’s business as usual for bin collections. So unless the weather becomes severe we’ll be there on your usual collection day to collect your rubbish.”
