Happier times... Hema Begum, Investment Marketing Coordinator for RDA, welcomes Neil Foley and Heywood New Heart Community Transport to Heywood Distribution Park
A bus service which transported hundreds of people to hospital, doctors' surgeries and leisure and social meetings has had to close.
Heywood New Heart Community Transport (HNHCT) began winding up proceedings after losing two major contracts.
The company, set up by Heywood NDC in 2003 became independent in 2008.
It provided nine buses serving around 3,000 people a month.
Most of their duties will be taken over by GMPTE’s Local Links service.
A spokesperson for HNHCT was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
