After School Clubs
All after school clubs are now finished until the New Year. Out-of-School Club is still on as usual.
Whole School Assembly
There is a whole school assembly on Friday and Keith Hicks will be presenting the football prizes.
Lego Competition
Good luck to those children taking part in the Lego Competition at Middleton CLC on Friday.
Food Hamper
We have had a fantastic food hamper donated to school to raffle from Co-operative Retail through Adam Ghilene’s parents. Tickets are 30p each which you can buy from the school office. The draw will take place the last week of school. All money raised will go towards buying some new books for the library.
Retirement
Mrs. Cheetham, our head lunchtime supervisor, is retiring at Christmas after over 34 years service at St. Edward’s. We are having a collection if anyone would like to make a donation. Thank you.
Christingle Service
We will be walking to St. Martin’s Church on Monday 13 December for a service at 10.30a. We will be leaving school at 10am if any parents would like to join us.
Please bring your Christingle money box back into school by this Friday – thank you.
St. Martin’s Christingle Service is on Friday evening, 17th December – details will be sent out next week.
Reception Nativity
The Reception Nativity is next Tuesday 14 December at 2pm.
Tickets are limited to 2 per family. Young children are allowed but will count as one of your places – we can only hold 100 people in the hall – this is a health and safety issue. If you haven’t already ordered tickets, please fill in the slip on the back of the newsletter and bring it back into school as soon as possible.
Raffle Prizes
The chocolate hamper has still not been claimed so we are raffling it again next week. Tickets are 20p per ticket.
Christmas Dinner
We are having our school Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 15 December. If your child does not normally have a lunch but would like one, please fill in the slip on the back of the newsletter so the kitchen have an idea of numbers. Lunch is £1.75.
Year 6 Performance
Year 6 will be doing a Music Hall performance for the school on Monday afternoon and for parents on Wednesday 15 December at 2.30pm.
Years 3 & 4
On Wednesday 15 December at 3pm, Years 3 & 4 will be having a short carol service in the junior playground (weather permitting) if parents would like to come along.
Text Messaging Service
We are continuing to use our text messaging service. In some cases we will be sending text messages to parents rather than sending letters so it is extremely important that you ensure you keep school up-to-date with any change in mobile phone numbers. Please ensure all new contact forms are returned to school as soon as possible.
Year 2
Many congratulations to the children in Year 2 who have had their poems chosen to be published in the Young Writer’s Poetry Book.
Calendars
If you still haven’t picked up your copy of our school calendar, we still have a few spare.
