Man attacked by teenagers trying to steal from shop

Two teenagers attacked a man and tried to steal cash from a shop in Middleton.
Around 6pm on Tuesday 30 November 2010, the 48-year-old victim was working at a shop on Wood Street when two teenagers went in.
They demanded money from the till and when they couldn't force it open they attacked the victim.
He fell into a shelf causing a suspected fractured cheek and ruptured eye socket.
The boys, described as white, 16 to 17 years old, with local accents and wearing dark clothing ran out of the shop.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Detective Constable Russ Clarke of Rochdale CID said: "These offenders went into the shop determined to steal money and when they weren't successful they attacked the victim.
"I would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around 6pm or if you saw the offenders going into or leaving the shop to please get in touch.
"We are treating this as an isolated incident but would like to remind all shop owners to be extra vigilant during the lead up to Christmas."
