Healey Primary School
Next week in school is the Christmas Performance Week; all parents should have received a Christmas programme of events. The week begins with the Choir walking down to Fieldhouse Nursing Home on Monday afternoon. We will be going at 1.30pm after lunch and should be back well in time for the end of school.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are performing their Christmas Plays on Tuesday. There is an afternoon performance at 2.00pm and an evening performance at 6.00pm. The performances are free but there will be a collection taken for Francis House Children’s Hospice by either a donation or purchase of one of the Christmas Beanie purses for £2.
Year 5 and 6 are holding their Christmas performance on Wednesday, again at 2.00pm for the afternoon and 6.00pm for the evening show.
Year 3 and 4 are taking the Carol Service on the last day so therefore are not taking part in a play this year.
The Christmas Lunch is on Wednesday. Reception parents who have booked a meal are asked to come by 11.30am at the latest. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Christmas Party is on Thursday afternoon which is also when the choir are out again, walking down to Hebron Church. The event, to which all are welcome, will finish at 3.00pm so if parents want to come down to Hebron (which is on Falinge Road, just past the park gates on the left hand side opposite the flats) to pick up the children then please do so.
Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award last Friday:
Reception Troy Swanick
Year 1 Nathan Ashurst
Year 2 Alicia Quinlan
Year 3 Paul Tighe
Year 4 Callum Jackson
Year 5 Lauren Harden
Year 6 Morgan Cornell
Star Cloakroom plaque was awarded to Year 2 who have made an astonishing effort on keeping the rows and rows of wellies neat and tidy. Best attendance was Year 5.
Thank you to all the efforts made in getting to school in the terrible weather. This week there are lots of children absent with bad coughs and colds. Could parents please help us by informing school when children are off and then confirming the reason for absence by letter on first day back to school.
