Weather update
As ever our procedure in updating parents / carers on any changes will be via the parentmail text service, our school website, Rochdale Council website and local radio stations. Thank you for your support.

Evening Youth Clubs and Saturday morning club
As we come to the end of a really successful half term for the new clubs, we are looking to give pupils and families greater choice and involvement in the clubs in the new year. You will have received a questionnaire asking for views with regard to the school providing transport for the clubs. Your views are crucial to our plans for future developments of the clubs.

Christmas Fayre
A big thanks to all parents, carers, staff and pupils who supported our Fayre and made the event such a success we raised £600.00

6th Form students in London
A group of students have visited London this week on a residential trip organized by Michele White and staff from the department.

Rochdale AFC at Redwood School
This week members of Rochdale Football Club have been in school taking part in activities with pupils. It has given all our young people the chance to show their skills and enjoy the activities.

Year 11 / Bridging Course Work Experience
Well done to those students who have recently completed a two week work experience placement. Miss Daisy, who co-ordinated the placements, was very proud of how well the students represented the school.

Key Stage 3 news
As ever another busy week with the Lilac Room shopping for ingredients to make Christmas Pudding Year 8/9 Orange visited the Christmas Markets in Manchester. The reading group made green crystal sweets from the Roald Dahl revolting recipes. Year 7 Blue visited Sir Tom Finneys School in Preston to work with other students. In Assembly students presented an Anti Bullying performance.

Students of the week Jacob, Kyle and Joseph. Special recognition to Declan W and Raymond for good buddies– welcoming new students to Redwood.

6th Form students have completed the first of their 10 week college link programme with taster sessions in Catering, Pottery and ICT and Media at Hopwood Hall College and Rochdale City Learning (CLC). Work at the CLC has included animations and using graphics for design. All students have been working really hard and producing some fantastic results.

The Wednesday morning PHSE group; Thomas F, Aiden, Brett and Dominic C have been working extremely hard on their lessons, which have been successfully completed with a high standard of accreditation achieved.

This week Student of the Week is Trang who is always polite, helpful and over the last year she has become more and more confident.

Most Improved Student this week is Kirsty who has become more responsible for herself and has been working really hard in 1:1 PHSE sessions.
