Netball Academy’s trip to World Netball Series

Date published: 06 December 2010

The students of the recently formed Netball Academy at Hopwood Hall College were treated to a trip to Liverpool Arena to see the best netball players in the world perform in the World Netball Series.

The students watched three thrilling matches: Malawi vs. Jamaica, England vs. South Africa and New Zealand vs. Australia. The girls managed to pick up some new techniques and saw netball played at the very highest level.

Bethany Wild, a Level 3 student said: “To see these teams play netball is brilliant and the highlight was definitely watching England play. We have all seen how fit you need to be to play at the highest level and the girls have managed to pick up some tips for our next game”.

The students even managed to meet some of the players and were thrilled to have their photo taken with some of the South African team.

The students now hope that they can learn from watching these players and continue to develop their skills during this year’s netball season; they have high ambitions and aim to finish in the play off position in the North West College’s Netball League.
