Police in Rochdale will be swapping their uniforms for running gear as they take on the Tatton Yule Yomp 10k run.
Seventeen police officers, PCSOs and non-police staff will be braving the cold in Tatton Park on Sunday 12 December 2010 to raise money for Byron Terrace respite care home in Rochdale.
Police Constable Mark Elliot, of Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I thought the run would be a fantastic way for us to get together, have fun and raise money for a great cause.
“A couple of the people taking part are quite good runners but I think the rest of us are just hoping to get round the course in one piece.
“I came across Byron Terrace through my work in the area and was struck by the care and dedication of the staff and the brilliant service they provide. This is just our way of saying thank you for all their hard work.”
