Healey Primary School
The Arts Week was a wonderful Alice in Wonderland success. Many many thanks to all the parents who joined in with the celebration non uniform day. The school was awash with white rabbits hurrying, mad hatters hatting, dormice snoozing, Cheshire cats grinning, numerous packs of playing cards with legs, too many queens of hearts to sort out, all intermingled with Alices. Thanks go to the kitchen ladies who made a Mad Hatters Tea Party Lunch. The day was finished off with a super production of Alice in Wonderland from the Working Space Theatre. Photographs from the Arts Week will be uploaded onto our website as soon as possible. Our Children in Need cake sale on Friday 19th raised an amazing £250.
We have some Christmas Beanie purses which we are selling on behalf of our chosen charity, Francis House. These only cost £2 and are available from Mrs Taylor and the school office. Please help. On Tuesday Year 1 children will be visiting Touchstones for an afternoon session on Victorian Toys & Games.
Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award last Friday:
Reception Cole Doolin
Year 1 Isabelle Harrison
Year 2 Joshua Lazo
Year 3 Kendra Marshall
Year 4 Leneta Hey
Year 5 Jack Reeves
Year 6 Abigail Hoyle
Year 2 achieved 100% attendance too. Excellent.
Congratulations are sent to Mrs Rahman, her husband, and to big brother Toby who welcomed baby Milo James into the world last Thursday. We hope to see you soon.
Parents are reminded that closing dates have now passed for photograph orders and Christmas Lunch.
All parents should now have the Christmas Timetable which is also available on the website.
Finally – the bad weather has arrived again. A reminder to all parents and carers; THE SCHOOL WILL NOT CLOSE DUE TO SNOW. The Local Authority are ensuring main school routes are gritted so it may be a case of parking somewhere convenient and walking the last hundred metres or so - the ‘Oxford’ car park is flat and has lots of room. If you do choose to come on to the estate, parking is hazardous under normal conditions, in snow the untreated roads and parked cars become a danger to pedestrians. Please consider alternatives. Could parents just ensure that the children have appropriate footwear and clothing for the snow. Changes of socks and gloves are essential. Wellington boots are great, but need warm socks underneath. Please also remind your children that snowballs and slides are not permitted out of safety and consideration for others.
