Students raise money for ‘Children in Need’

Date published: 23 November 2010

Health and Social Care students from Hopwood Hall College got a bit silly on Friday (19 November 2010) in aid of Children in Need.

BTEC 1st Diploma students raised £150.00 by throwing wet sponges and foam pies at their good-humoured personal tutors Ann Howson and Helen Dunn.

BTEC National Diploma 1st year Care students raised £71.10 by selling cakes, £41.57 by waxing male legs.

Foundation Learning Entry group raised £48 for the Springhill Hospice with the help of their Personal Tutors Vicky Cother and Linda Parry.

Another group dressed up as a sheep, a fairy, a reindeer, a cave girl, a leopard – they sold cakes all around the college and had a fabulous time. Personal Tutor Richenda Yates said: “We all shared the fun and had cakes ourselves. Well done to the group who raised £50.”

Pictures of the event were up loaded onto the Children in Need website and were shown on TV on Friday Night praising Hopwood Hall College for all the hard work and effort.
