Year 8 / 9 Yellow recently interviewed the headteacher asking a variety of questions about his job, how he leads and manages the school, hobbies and what he enjoys doing away from school. Well done to all the pupils for asking some great questions!

Reviews commence on Monday 22 November for parents of pupils in 4J, 4B, 4A.

A reminder that the evening Youth Clubs and Saturday morning clubs are going from strength to strength with lots of new ideas being discussed. Should you require any further information on this please contact David Butterworth at school.

KS4 were treated to a trip around Old Trafford on Tuesday. Starting with a question and answer session with United employee and aficionado Laura and then lunch in the Red Cafe. Big Al took us round the stadium showing the newly renamed Munich Tunnel and then onto the dressing room, tunnel and dug out. Beatlab is back with a bang. reporter Declan sang his version of The Temptations—My Girl. Year 11 Science Update -They’ve been learning about heat conduction. Heating up water and seeing if it stays hot longer using different materials. Mr Barnes’s class have been making animations and putting music to them. The short film is entitled Warehouse Project.

Key Stage 3 news—another packed week of activities with pupils taking part in horse riding, a visit to the outdoor gym at Queens Park and another visit from Terry the Tortoise. Yr 8/9 Green and purple have been looking at the phantoms face under his mask and creating their own phantom faces using special effects make up. Christmas is just around the corner with the Lilac room making Christmas Cakes and Year 8/9 Red Christmas shopping, Year 7 Blue visited Elms Bank School in Bury to watch a Christmas performance. Students of the week– Sharma, Charlotte and Tanzilla—well done.

Key stage 3 held a non uniform day– wearing their own clothes in exchange for Chocolate!

6th form news -Food & Drink Life skills lesson, Chantelle, Sarah and Rebecca have been preparing Pizza for their lunch, planning what they would like to eat and what ingredients they would need. The group have also been learning about safety in the kitchen and the correct procedures for food preparation. The group agreed that the end results proved very tasty indeed! 5E went on a Transition visit to Bury College. They had a tour of the college including a visit to the library and the newly refurbished Foundation Studies kitchen. On a Tuesday the college has a cafe running -the soup does smell good. The group had lunch in the refectory and even saw some of our old students who love being at Bury College. Karen and Arfa spent some time with an Art group while Andrew asked about the enrichment programme.

Student of the Week is Liam T. Liam has settled into 6th Form really well. He has become more confident and has delighted staff with his cheeky personality coming through. Most Improved Student this week is Craig for showing improvement in his behaviour he seems to be a lot more settled.
