The Pennine Acute Hospital Trust has denied rumours that it is planning to close the link bridge at the Rochdale Infirmary.
The bridge, links parts of the hospital building together and is called ‘the yellow brick road’ by many.
Rumours have circulated that a meeting has been held and discussions about closing the bridge took place.
Friends of our Hospital campaigner, Councillor Jean Ashworth said: “I just don’t see any reason why this is even being considered.”
A spokesman for The Pennine Acute Trust said: “There are no plans to close the link bridge at Rochdale Infirmary.
“Our priority is to work with staff to plan the implementation of the service changes as announced last week as part of Healthy Futures.”
