Popstar Simon Webbe will officially switch on the Christmas lights in Rochdale tomorrow (Thursday 18 November 2010) night.
Simon Webbe is best known for being in the boy band ‘Blue’ but has also enjoyed solo success with two top 20 albums and 5 hit singles including ‘No Worries’ and ‘Coming Around Again.’
He has also appeared on ITV1’s ‘ I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of here!’, while his film credits include ‘The Truth About Love’ and’ Rolling With The Nines’.
The evening, which starts at 6.00pm on The Butts, hosted by Real Radio Breakfast Show presenters Ditchy and Salty will also include performances by pop singer Britt Love, new band The Kixx, and urban music stars Bonafide.
Also taking to the stage will be local singers Ellysse Mason and Courtney Cecere plus promotion winning Rochdale AFC Management duo Keith Hill and Dave Flitcroft.
Deputy Council Leader Ashley Dearnley said he is looking forward to another fabulous evening: “I hope people will come and support the event, and enjoy the family fun, live music, celebrity guests and fireworks to start the festive season off with a bang. There's no need for tickets – simply wrap up warm, grab your friends and get ready to have fun!”
Rochdale Borough Council is advising people to arrive early. The town’s car parks are clearly signposted, and all council car parks and metered street parking is free after 3pm.
