Re-appeal for Middleton man wanted on recall

Date published: 12 November 2010

Police are re-appealing for the public's help in tracing a convicted robber from Rochdale recalled to a young offenders' institute.

Christopher Carroll, 20,  from Middleton has been recalled after breaking the conditions of his licence.

He was sentenced to 16 months detention in a young offenders' institute for robbery in March 2008.

Carroll was released on licence on 7 October 2009 but has failed to comply with the conditions, in attending appointments and going back to a designated address.

He has connections to Middleton and Manchester as well as Wales.

Officers have been working hard to find him since he first breached his conditions in April 2010 and first appealed for the public's help in May.

Detective Inspector Melanie Linton, based at the Rochdale Volume Crime Unit, said: "Carroll is putting his own future on hold by failing to keep to the conditions set out in his licence as he will now have to go back into custody.

"The sooner he goes back and serves out his remaining time the better because we will catch him no matter how much he tries to avoid us."

"If you have seen him or know where he is, please call us."

Anyone with information is asked to call police in Rochdale on 0161 856 4943 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
