Gales force road closure
Date published: 12 November 2010
A section of Bamford Road in Heywood will be closed over the weekend after high winds caused a mill to become unstable.
The road will be shut off both ways between Bury and Rochdale Old Road and Mine Street.
Rochdale Council authorities were made aware of the problem at Hooley Bridge Mill last night and are awaiting advice from a building inspector before taking further action.
A Council spokesperson said that the road will probably remain shut until Tuesday.
