Man dies in collision in Heywood

A man has died in a road collision in Heywood.
Shortly after 10.40pm last night (Tuesday 9 November 2010), police were called to Rochdale Old Road near to its junction with Ashworth Road.
Officers attended and found a Toyota Rav 4 had collided with a fence and a wall.
Richard William Cook, 29, of The Ormrods, Bury, was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been formally identified.
The road was closed for around four hours and is now fully open.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them at the Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 8809.
