Six charged over firearms recovery

Six men have been charged after three cars were stopped in Rochdale.
Just after 9.30pm on Monday 8 November 2010 three cars were stopped by armed officers on Roch Mills Crescent. A loaded sawn-off shotgun and a pistol were recovered from the cars.
The three cars were also seized.
Atiq Arif, 36, of Lytton Avenue, Cheetham Hill and Peter Maguire, 41, of New Islington, Ancoats, have been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of firearms by persons previously convicted of crime.
Perry Curtis, 21, of Pegwell Drive, Lower Broughton has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a class B drug.
Amar Murtaza, 33, of Silverhill Road, Bradford, Daryl Maguire, 24, of Windsor Avenue, Prestwich and Steven Michael Yates, 27, of no fixed address have all been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
They are all due to appear before Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Thursday 11 November 2010.
