Falinge Park High School
Many thanks to all the parents, friends and staff who attended our Abba Tribute evening this week and who made it such a success. A great night was enjoyed by everyone and there were some truly fantastic fancy dress costumes.
A special edition pantomime themed Arts College newsletter has been issued to all pupils this week. The newsletter includes the pantomime ticket order form on the back page.Further copies of the newsletter are available on the school website at www.falingepark.com
There are now a few remaining places to see ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ at The Bury Met on Wednesday 15 December for Years 7 and 8 pupils. Please see Mr. DeCourcey if you would like a letter. Places are offered on a ‘first come, first served basis’.
There are currently two arts related competitions in school. Pupils from all years are invited to participate in a ‘Design a Clown’ costume design competition. The entry form can be found in the pages of the latest Arts College newsletter or downloaded from our school website. There are three prizes up for grabs from the three best entries. The second competition is being Run by Mr. Dalby and the Songwriting Group as we look to find the best original circus song from the budding composers across the school. Details of the ‘Pantomime Songwriting’ competition can also be found in the latest Arts College newsletter. The winning entry will be performed on one or more of the performances in December.
Can we ask all pupils who attend music tuition sessions across school to ensure that they carry their music lesson passes with them at all times. It is important that you do not forget it in order to avoid getting into trouble back in class. Please can you check the Music lesson timetables on a regular basis as there are inevitably some late minute changes.
Windband rehearsals take place every Thursday after school in F9 and it is important that you attend as we prepare for a season of concerts and performances.
All pupils involved in our school pantomime should now have a full copy of our rehearsal timetable which lists every rehearsal right up to the final performances. If you have not received one yet, please see Mr. Mvula as soon as possible.
