Unattended candles cause fire

A fire swept a mid-terrace home in Middleton yesterday night (4 November), after candles were left unattended.
At 9.19pm, two fire-engines from Blackley were called to the Bonny Brow Street residence to put out the fire on the first floor. Firefighters used two hose reels and 4 breathing apparatus.
Half of the first floor was left damaged by the fire but there were no casualties.
