Young designers stand up for pedestrian safety

Date published: 04 November 2010

DriveSafe, Greater Manchester’s Casualty Reduction Partnership, is sending out a final call to students to don their creative caps and come up with a winning logo and landing page design for its campaign to make roads safer for pedestrians.

The competition that closes on 12 November 2010, is part of the ‘Don’t Live Your Life In A Bubble,’ campaign that has been launched by DriveSafe, to raise pedestrian awareness of the dangers of using handheld gadgets and not paying attention while using the county’s roads.

Not only will the winning design be transformed into a live landing page, but it will form the campaign’s official branding. The winner will also receive their final artwork framed along with an annual travel card from System One.

Karen Delaney, communications manager at DriveSafe, said: “We’ve had some fantastic designs so far and it’s great to see so many young people getting involved, but the competition is open until mid-November so we want to remind students that it’s still not too late to get creative and keep the entries coming in thick and fast.”
