A Rochdale man is preparing for a gruelling bike ride to raise money for charity.
Aarron Taylor, 21, will cycle the 36.8miles round trip from Morrisons supermarket in Todmorden to Morrisons supermarket in Whitefield and back later this month to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.
Mr Taylor has never done a challenge like this before, he said: “I decided to do this as a way to get a bit fitter while doing something for a good cause. I am looking forward to doing this challenge as it will show that if you put your mind to doing something you can make a difference
“My chosen charity is Breast Cancer Research as I was only recently made aware of how much the disease affects the world’s population.
“I am hoping to raise £500 plus.”
Mr Taylor continued: “In preparation for the challenge I am building up my leg muscles ready for the 36.8 mile trip.
“I do not know how long it will take me but no matter how long it takes I will push on and complete my challenge.”
Mr Taylor concluded: “The best way to sum up my reason for doing this is to quote my favourite scene from Highlander 2 where Sean Connery playing Juan Villa-Lobos Ramirez says "most people have a full measure of life and most people sit by and watch it slowly drip away but if you can sum it all up in just one place at one time you can accomplish amazing things" so the amazing thing I could do rather than just watching my life slowly drip away as I age is to help Breast Cancer Research find a cure for cancer.”
