Date published: 30 October 2010

The people of Milnrow joined together this evening (Saturday 30 October 2010) for a traditional Halloween party.

Although it isn’t officially Halloween until tomorrow guests to the party, at the Milnrow Working Men’s Club, had put in lots of effort to look the part.

Costumes varying from witches to giant pumpkins and devils to skeletons were amongst those on show.

The party, now in its third year, was full of happy families. Face painting and children’s entertainment was on offer to keep the youngsters entertained.

There were also prizes for the best fancy dressed man, woman, boy and girl.

Mason Bell donning a skeleton outfit and Tyesha Rochelle dressed as a witch bagged the children’s prizes. Helen Poulton also a witch and Kieran Binns won the prizes in the adult section. Mr Binns walked away with a beer hamper and Ms Poulton won a hair dressing voucher and a bottle of wine.

The club’s events and entertainment co-ordinator Michael Cunningham said: “The Halloween party is just to get all the community together. Parents and children are here enjoying themselves. It is a real community event.

“It is a sell out. There are some really good outfits here and the adults love it as much as the children.

“Just looking around I can see how much fun everyone is having and that’s what it is all about.

“It has been hard work but it is all worth it.”
