Swimming Team Training
There will be no swimming team training this Friday morning, 22 October 2010.

South African Assembly
On Friday Years 3 & 4 children are doing a South African assembly involving showing some African Artwork, South African dancing and singing and also showing some photographs from our partner school in Pretoria.

Years 1 & 2 French Club
After half term Miss. Davies is starting a French Club for Years 1 and 2. It will take place on Wednesdays after school 3.20pm – 4.15pm. Places are limited so if your child is interested, please fill in the slip on the back of the newsletter and return it to school as soon as possible.

Outdoor Clothing
As the weather is starting to change, please ensure children have the appropriate outdoor clothing.

Parents Meetings
We are holding Parents Meetings for the whole school on Tuesday 2nd November. Please make sure your slips are returned to school and you will be allocated times for your appointments.

Dinner Money
Please send dinner money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Lunches are now £1.75 per day - £8.75 per week and should be paid on a Monday morning.

School Lunches
There is a copy of the menus on our school portal. After half term we are on Week 1

Team Theme
Team Theme Football will start again after half term on Tuesday 2nd November.

Castleton Children’s Centre
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ for 0-5yr olds is on here at St. Edward’s School and every Wednesday morning 9.30am-10.15am. These sessions are really well attended and there are lots of activities for the children to do. It was nice to see some Dads and Grandads joining us this week!!!

Operation Christmas Child
Shoe boxes need to be in by Thursday 18th November at the latest. We have a few spare empty shoe boxes in the office if anyone would like one.

Yellow Moon
Your child will have received the Christmas Yellow Moon Catalogue. Any orders need to be sent off directly to Yellow Moon and school will receive up to 20% of any orders taken.

Winter Fair
This year’s Winter Fair is on Friday 19th November. After half term we will be collecting donations of books, toys, good as new, etc. so a good time to have a clear-out!!
If anyone has any raffle prizes they would be willing to donate, we would be very grateful. Thank you.

Half Term
School closes this Friday 22 October and reopens on Monday 1 November at the normal time.
