Teenagers robbed in park
Date published: 21 October 2010
Two teenagers were robbed by a group of half a dozen men in a Rochdale park.
Around 5pm on Saturday 9 October 2010, the offenders surrounded the boy and girl, both aged 16, as they were walking in Falinge Park and demanded that the boy hand over cash.
One of the culprits threatened to kill the victim as another boy went through his pockets and stole money.
The offenders then went towards the park's bowling green.
They are described as being Asian youths, aged between 15 and 17-years-old.
One of them was about 5ft 11in tall, 16 to 17-years-old, of medium build wearing a black leather jacket. He had dark spotty stubble.
Another was about 15 to 16-years-old, 5ft 11in tall, of skinny build. He had scabby chapped lips and was wearing a grey jumper.
Cash and jewellery was stolen from the teenagers.
Detective Constable Lesley Nolan said: "This robbery happened on a sunny day and I am sure that there are witnesses who have information for us.
"If you saw this group or the offence taking place please get in touch.
"I do not want to alarm people who use the park and want to make it clear that this offence is being thoroughly investigated."
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4052 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
