Pantomime
The whole school are going to see Sleeping Beauty at The Oldham Coliseum 6 December. The cost will be £10 per child which can be paid in total or in installments but must be paid in full by Monday 7 November. Please make sure money is in an envelope with your child’s name and class on.

Harvest Festival
We will be having a Harvest Service in school on Monday afternoon. Mr. Barry Wild from St. Martin’s will be coming into school. Could children please bring in either tinned or packet foods for donations to PETRUS which is for homeless people in Rochdale.

Macmillan and Breast Cancer Charities
Thank you so much for all your support. We raised just over £250 for these two very worthy causes.

Reception PE A reminder that Reception will be starting their PE lessons every Wednesday from 13 October. Please make sure children have their PE kit in school every week. Thank you.

Text Messaging Service
We are continuing to use our text messaging service. In some cases we will be sending text messages to parents rather than sending letters so it is extremely important that you ensure you keep school up-to-date with any change in mobile phone numbers. Please ensure all new contact forms are returned to school as soon as possible.

Swimming Team Training
Years 5 & 6 swimming team training is on Friday mornings. Children should meet Mrs. Taylor at Castleton Baths at 8.30am unless they usually come to Breakfast club and then Mrs. Seddon will pick those children up at about 8.15am and take them to the baths.

Dinner Money
Please send dinner money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Lunches are now £1.75 per day - £8.75 per week and should be paid on a Monday morning.

School Lunches
Lunches are now on a 3 weekly rota – there is a copy of the menus on our school portal. Next week we are on Week 2.

Team Theme
Team Theme Football starts on Tuesday 12 October at 3.30pm.

Music Lessons
Please ensure your child brings their instruments into school each week.
Clarinet – Monday; Brass – Tuesday and Guitar – Friday.
Lessons are now £2.75 per week –paid either weekly or half-termly.

Castleton Children’s Centre
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ for 0-5yr olds is on here at St. Edward’s School and every Wednesday morning 9am-10.15am. These sessions are really well attended and there are lots of activities for the children to do.

Halloween Bingo
We are having a Halloween Bingo fun Night on Thursday 21 October. Doors open 6.15pm; eyes down 6.30pm. Entrance (including a drink of juice and a biscuit) – 50p child; £1 adult; £2 family ticket (2 adults + 2/3 children). Books + flyers £1.
There will be prizes for the best child and adult fancy dress costume.

Winter Fair This year’s Winter Fair is on Friday 19 November. After half term we will be collecting donations of books, toys, good as new, etc. so a good time to have a clear-out!!
