Staff from Kingsway Business Park and Rochdale Development Agency take advantage of Kingsway’s cycle paths
Workers on Kingsway are getting into the spirit of the 2010 Tour of Britain by taking advantage of the business park’s cycle paths.
“We’ve got about seven miles of cycle paths which stretch right across the business park,” said Fiona Walker, marketing manager for Rochdale Development Agency.
“It is great for staff who want to use their bikes to get to the office, or want to get a bit of exercise on their lunch break. Cycling is really popular at the moment – and the Tour of Britain coming to town has only enhanced that.”
Teams of riders each completed a five mile route and pledged their journey to the Sustrans ‘Change Your World’ campaign – which aims to clock up enough miles to complete a virtual trip around the world using sustainable transport.
The Tour of Britain arrives in Rochdale in September, with around 100 of the world’s top cyclists.
