Couple led to safety after fire

A man, woman and a dog were rescued from their house on Garden Street, Heywood at 3.03am this morning (Monday 23 August 2010) following a chip pan fire.
Two fire engines attended the fire after a passer-by raised the alarm.
The couple refused breathing apparatus or hospital treatment.
