Festival debut for teen band

A Middleton band that came runner up in the Feel Good Festival’s battle of the bands competition wowed the friendly crowd at their gig tonight (Friday 13 August 2010).

The Mysterons made up of school friends from Cardinal Langley High School, performed in Mango as part of this weekend’s Feel Good Festival, to a small yet incredibly appreciative audience.

The band made up of three young men and one young woman performed nine tracks and the whistles and claps at the end of each song showed that this band would be one to look out for in the future.

The group’s fantastic female drummer gave the band a completely new and different edge accompanied by their fresh and upbeat tracks.

They performed songs they have written themselves including “Come on,” “When you going to wake up” and “Going out in the rain.”

The set finished with a song just as great as the one it started with and the smiles on the faces of the band members showed that they had had a great time – from the round of applause it was apparent the crowd had too.

Following the performance 19-year-old drummer Natalie Jervis described the night as “absolutely fantastic.”

She said: “There are so many good bands involved in the festival we didn’t even think we would get a place so we are so happy to have been given the chance to perform.

“I think it went really well the venue had a nice close feel to it – I loved it.”

Ms Jervis added: “We are going to have some time out to write some more new songs before we all go back to university and college.”

The student had this message for anybody getting involved in music: “Just do it, go for it!”

Also on the bill later in the evening at Mango was Manchester based Coup De Ville.
