Tenants living in the Rochdale borough are being urged not to waste their chance to have a say on who will be representing them as Tenant Board Members.
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing’s (RBH) election campaign is in full swing and the ballot to vote for prospective Board Members opens on Monday 23 August.
Director of Operations, Andrew Toft said: “Tenant Board members have a vital role to play in shaping the way RBH delivers its services and making sure the organisation operates in the best interests of all of its tenants and their communities. There is a healthy list of candidates who are keen to join the Board and we hope that all of our tenants will take this opportunity to vote for their preferred choice.”
The RBH Board of Directors has thirteen members comprising of six tenant members, four council members and three independents. There are now three tenant board member vacancies and this time RBH decided to widen the elective campaign so that tenants living in any area of the borough could stand for election if they were nominated by six other tenants.
Board members help to shape the future of the organisation and influence how RBH provides services. The Board is also responsible for making sure that those services are as efficient and effective as possible and that they meets all of their targets. That is why it is important that all tenants make an informed decision about which candidates are best placed to serve their interests on the Board.
