Police appeal following gun threat

Date published: 09 August 2010

Greater Manchester police are appealing for information after three people were threatened with a gun in their flat in Middleton.

Just before 12.15am on Monday 26 July 2010, two offenders forced their way into the locked flat on Wood Street, Middleton.

One of them pointed a small black handgun at the two men aged 17 and 29 and a 23-year-old woman in the flat and demanded they give them cannabis.

The occupants of the flat explained they didn't have anything but the two men searched the flat and smashed a window before leaving empty-handed.

The offenders were described as white, of slim build, around 5ft 9ins tall and aged about 16-years-old.

The boy with the gun had blonde hair and wore a silver colour hooded top and the other wore a dark coloured hooded top.

Detective Constable Mike Berger of Rochdale CID said: "The people in the flat were in genuine fear for their life and we want to make sure we catch the offenders so they can start to put this ordeal behind them.

"I want to hear from anyone who may have seen something that night or if you have information about the people involved."

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8754 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111
