Date published: 04 August 2010
A charity football match held over the weekend has raised a total of £450 which will be sent to Pakistan flood victims to help them with some much needed basic necessities.
The annual charity football match between Wardleworth Football Club (WFC) and the “Legends” sponsored by Whitestone Solicitors took place on Sunday (1 August 2010) on Heybrook playing field.
The final score of a game described as being played with “great spirit” was 4-4 which sees the Whitestone Solicitors Charity Shield shared once again.
The solicitors firm has also promised a significant contribution for the same cause.
A spokesperson for the football team said: “WFC would like to thank all those who took part in this event and donated money for such a great cause. A big thank you also goes to Whitestone Solicitors who continue to support the community and beyond.”
