Fun on the farm

Date published: 29 July 2010

Ten families from Littlebrough Sure Start Children’s Centre visited the animals in distress sanctuary earlier this week.

The group of parents, children and staff took a guided tour of the farm starting with greeting the horses in the field. The sanctuary is home to lots of animals including peacocks, goats, parrots and lizards. Many of these were rescue animals.

Sarah Denyer– Early Years Worker said: “The farm visit was a fantastic morning where children and adults had the chance to get close to animals in their natural environment. We learnt where the animals had come from and how the sanctuary had cared for them. This farm provided the children with positive real life experiences and is definitely a place we will visit again.”
