Man recovering following machete attack

A man is recovering in hospital after he was attacked with a machete.
Shortly after 8pm on Friday 23 July 2010, police were called to Broadfield Park, Sparrow Hill, Rochdale, following reports a man was being assaulted.
A 25-year-old man had been punched, stabbed with a machete and kicked while on the ground.
The man, who was unconscious, was taken to hospital suffering from a cut to the forehead and bruises.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack.
Detective Constable Mike Berger, of Rochdale CID, said: "There were a lot of people in the park on Friday night and I'm sure quite a few of them must have seen something.
"I'd urge them to make contact with us straight away."

Three men have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Iftikar Syed (born 21/04/89), Omar Syed Iqbal (born 08/01/83) and Syed Tanveer Iqbal (born 27/05/81) all of Ellesmere Street, Freehold, were all due before Rochdale Magistrates' Court on Monday 26 July 2010.
