Rochdale travel companies offer support to holidaymakers
Date published: 20 July 2010
Travel agents in Rochdale are busy working to help local holidaymakers affected by the collapse of Goldtrail.
The London Company went into administration earlier this week leaving 16,000 Britons stranded in Turkey and Greece.
Holidaymakers were also told their flights were cancelled and they would have to pay again for their hotels.
People who have booked with Goldtrail for later in the summer face losing all their money.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook in Rochdale said: "Although we do not sell Goldtrail holidays, we have been advising holidaymakers affected by the company's collapse on what they can do and offering alternative holidays to help them get away this summer."
A spokesperson for The Co-operative Travel said: "Customers of The Co-operative Travel are fully financially protected, and we are in dialogue with our customers and the CAA to help those currently on holiday. We are also contacting all those holidaymakers who are yet to travel to make alternative arrangements. All our customers will be taken care of either by being offered an alternative holiday or a full refund, depending on their circumstances.”
