Bar Mystique opened its doors to the people of Rochdale with a big launch night last night (Saturday 17 July 2010).
The newly refurbished venue has a smart, classy feel and hopes to add something different to a night out in Rochdale.
Steve Turner, promoter and DJ, said: “Tonight has been a good night, it filled up as we went along and people finished their night here, it’s been a good night.”
Speaking about the venue Mr Turner said: “We’re concentrating on the music and the atmosphere, we’re about quality and having a great time.
He added: “We’ve got it all, there’s a smart lounge area where you can sit and talk and a place to dance.
“When you’re out with your mates, colleagues or whoever, you want a place to chat, dance and have fun in a friendly environment.
“When we looked at the venue in the first place we wondered why it wasn’t already open.
“I feel as though Rochdale is missing out on something and this is the right time for this bar.”
There isn’t a specific music policy at Bar Mystique either, Mr Turner has done live DJ sets on the radio and at all different types of venues around the North West, and so Mystique offers a range of mixes and genres.
However, there are plans for different themed nights as well, for example, when the Feelgood Festival arrives in Rochdale, Mystique will be hosting different music events.
The dress code for the venue is smart casual, dress to impress and the bar has an over 21-entrance policy.
Mr Turner concluded: “We’re all about a fun, friendly atmosphere.”
