Falinge Park High School
Please can pupils return their sponsored walk monies and forms to school as soon as possible. The monies raised are contributing to a new school minibus but we have a long way to go. Please hand your money and form in at Pupil Reception as breaktime, lunchtime or after school.
We would like to congratulate our Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils who are to participate in the Rochdale Feel Good Festival over the summer holidays. Pupils from Mr. Dalbys’ songwriting group and from our band, Part 500, will be performing at Touchstones on Saturday 14 August between 14 August between 12 noon and 3pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
Letters have now been distributed for a range of theatre visits for the Autumn term. There are visits to see ‘Our Day Out: the Musical’ at The Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, and ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’ at Bury Met. There are also one or two seats still left for pupils looking to take part in our joint theatre visit to see ‘Horrible Science’ in Manchester. If you would like to come along on one of these visits, please collect a letter from the CEPA office.
Some staff are participating in a midnight walk in aid of Springhill Hospice on Saturday 17 July if anyone would like information about joining, please contact Andrea Slessor in school. We are dusting off our torches and looking forward to the adventure!
Our BTEC pupils participated in the ‘Inside Out’ dance event organized by Spiral Dance on Wednesday 7 July and excelled themselves again with a brilliant performance. Well done dancers, Mrs. Wystawnoha and Mr. Mvula!
The playwright, Mary Cooper is in school on Tuesday 20 July to start the research on her next play, that has been commissioned by M6 Theatre Company. This is always an exciting time for us because pupils have the opportunity to help a writer create a new piece of work. She will be working with Year 9 and Year 10 groups.
The Alton Towers visit is on Wednesday 21 July. Everybody must be in school between 6.45am and 7.00am so pupils should set their alarm clocks to ensure they are not late. The coaches will be leaving PROMPTLY at 7.15am. They will arrive back in school at 7.00pm, when pupils will be dismissed. We hope that the sun will shine so it will be important for pupils to have sun cream with them and if your child is travel sick, please can they take the necessary precautions. We hope everybody has a brilliant time.
