Fifteen cannabis plants were discovered during a raid in Rochdale today (Wednesday 15 July 2010)
Acting on intelligence from members of the public, officers from the Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Team raided a house on Kensington Street, Deeplish, at about 8am.
A cannabis farm of 15 mature plants was found in a first floor room.
A 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and remain in police custody for questioning.
Sergeant Shoheb Chowdhury from the Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "This is another fantastic example of the police and the community working in partnership to stop drugs getting onto our streets.
"We have had a number of successes in detecting cannabis farms in Rochdale and this latest operation reinforces the clear message that we will act decisively to deal with the manufacture of illegal drugs.
"We want to thank the public for their help and urge them to continue to provide us with information anonymously via the GMP drugs hotline on 0161 856 1417 or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
