Youth Clubs at Redwood - We shall be sending out information on the arrangements for the start of our Youth Clubs in September. Please be aware that we are planning to have Youth Clubs on the following days :Tuesdays 6pm – 8.00pm : Years 7, 8, and 9 Wednesdays 6pm – 8pm, Years 10 and 11 Thursdays 6pm – 8pm, Post 16 Saturday mornings – 2hrs ( times to be confirmed ).

Pupil Activities - As you are aware our pupils have a fantastic array of enrichment activities organised by the staff. The following events have taken place: Post 16 Students taking tea at the Midland Hotel, Year 14 students leavers lunch, Key Stage 4 Creative Media exhibition of their stunning work, Year 11 mock interviews and Key Stage 3 theme days including ‘Tea in the Piano Room’

Athlete into School -Our pupils had the opportunity to take part in an athletics session with Andrew Steele. They had the opportunity to have a few tips from an international athlete, receive special T shirts and have wheelchair activities and races against an international 400m athlete. A team of over 50 young people attended the Greater Manchester Disability Games Leigh Sports Village.

Effective Student Council Award - We will be presented with our award in a special assembly. This will also include an update on the anti bullying week book ‘On the way to the park’ which was written by a group of our pupils with the Children’s Society in 2008. It has now been published nationally and orders have been received from a far as New Zealand.

Annual Reviews -Thank you for your support with annual reviews this year. The attendance at the reviews was 73.14% with 67% of parents completing the parental survey. Your continued input is vital. Many thanks.
