Please can pupils return their sponsored walk monies and forms to school as soon as
possible, The money raised is contributing to a new school minibus but we have a long way to go. Please hand your money and form in at Pupil Reception as break time, lunchtime or after school.

Letters have been issued this week to train the next cohort of CEPA Learning Champions.
If you are a Year 8 pupil in receipt of a letter then please return your form to Mr. DeCourcey who is in the CEPA. Please can this be done as soon as possible. If you are unable to attend the training session, it is important that we know before the end of term.

Many thanks to Greenbank and Spotland Primary schools who attended our Adventurous Pursuits Project Arts Day on Thursday this week. Year 5 pupils from both schools Experienced Dance, Drama, Art and Music Technology and each pupil left with a DVD of the full term project which included skiing, kayaking, climbing and team building challenges. Well done to all the pupils involved.

We are delighted to visit All Saints Primary School this week to take part in their Arts Week.
Pupils from Year 10 will be leading several sessions on Dance and Drama throughout the week.
Year 10 BTEC students should ensure that their forms are returned to either Mr. DeCourcey or Ms. Wystawnoha as soon as possible.

We would like to congratulate our Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils who are to participate in the Rochdale Feel Good Festival over the summer holidays. Pupils from Mr. Dalbys’ Songwriting group and from our band, Part 500, will be performing at Touchstones on Saturday 14 August between 12pm and 3pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

Congratulations to those pupils who have applied recently to take part in the Channel 4 4TalentProject in Manchester. We look forward to discovering how you get on in the near future. Please contact Mr. DeCourcey if you are participating in any of the summer workshops.

If you are in Year 8 and have recently had a letter to take part in our Drama Summer School. We would appreciate a prompt reply. Places are now allocated on a ‘First come, first served’ basis and it important that all forms are returned to Mr. DeCourcey, Mr. Morley or Mr. Sapsford as soon as possible.

Letters have now been distributed for a range of theatre visits for the autumn term. There are visits to see ‘Our Day Out: the Musical’ at The Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, and ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’ at Bury Met. There are also one or two seats still left for pupils looking to take part in our joint theatre visit to see ‘Horrible Science’ in Manchester. If you would like to come along on one of these visits, please collect a letter from the CEPA office.

We are now looking to register our current members of our lunchtime Film Club. This will get you a membership card and keychain, together with the opportunity to take part in lots of competitions, reviews and more. Fore more details, please visit our school VLE or come up the CEPA office.

The GCSE History group left on Friday for a weekend of study in London. They have a packed and exciting itinery and a theatre visit to watch a musical. We hope they have a great time. Students will experience a range of cultural and historical sights and attractions including a visit to Churchills War experience, London Dungeon and 'Wicked' the west end musical. Students will return to school at approx 5.30pm on Saturday 10 July.

Induction Day for our next years Year 7 intake will be on Tuesday 13 July. All current Year 6 pupils in primary schools who are coming to Falinge in September will in school to get to know their new teachers and their future class mates. Everybody should meet in the main foyer where Mrs. Rudkowskyj is looking forward to meeting everybody and introducing the teachers,

Some staff are participating in a midnight walk in aid of Springhill Hospice on Saturday 17 July. If anyone would like information about joining, please contact Andrea Slessor in school. We are dusting off our torches and looking forward to the adventure.
