Rolex watches were stolen during a robbery at a Rochdale jewellers this morning.

At 10.30am today (Wednesday 7 July 2010) three masked men forced the security door of Fraser Hart jewellers on Yorkshire Street.

The men then used a crow bar to break the display glass at the front of the store and stole a number of watches.

They escaped in a stolen getaway car, which has been described as an Audi A6 estate, registration YY59RBF.

Two of the men are described as being an average height and wearing all black. The third man was slightly shorter and was wearing a grey hooded top with black stripes.

Detective Inspector Chris Walker said: “The offenders have targeted the business in broad daylight and in moments have stolen thousands of pounds worth of watches.

“I'd urge anyone who may have seen any part of the attack outside the shop or if they saw the Audi getaway car, to call us."

Anyone with any information is asked to call Rochdale CID on 0161 856 4644, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
