Brother and sister robbed in Rochdale
Date published: 07 July 2010
A brother and sister were assaulted and robbed as they walked down a street in Rochdale.
At 10:30pm on Saturday 26 June 2010, a man walked up to the 15 year-old girl on Holborn Street and asked for the time.
The girl provided the time but the offender jumped on her and her brother.
He then kicked the brother to the ground and hit the girl on the arm.
He stole the girl’s phone and ran off down Holborn Street and jumped over a fence.
He is described as white, between 30-35 years old, 6ft 2ins tall and had short, balding, blonde hair. He was skinny, topless, wore black tracksuit bottoms and carried a white carrier bag.
Detective Sergeant Sam Halligan said: “This is a nasty attack on an innocent brother and sister.
“Not only has he kicked and hit both of them, he has stolen the girl’s phone.
“We have a good description of the man and are confident we will be able to identify him.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 8632 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
