Community Fire Safety Officers Steve Ashworth with pupils from Falinge Park High School
Community Fire Safety Officers Steve Ashworth and Craig Lord attended Falinge Park High School this week to give a 'Safe4Summer' presentation to pupils in year 7.
The pupils were given a lesson on the risks of entering dangerous water to cool off through the summer.
This was followed by a discussion about how easy it is to cause devastation to the countryside and kill wildlife by setting fire to grassland or not taking care when camping.
Helen Boulter, year 7 tutor said: "All the year 7 students really learned a lot about being careful through the summer break and now will think twice about jumping into open water and will visit the swimming baths for a free swim. They also know the consequences of setting fires in the surrounding countryside."
