Falinge Park High School
Well done to pupils who participated in our sponsored walk last week. A hugely
enjoyable day was had by everyone. We now need to collect sponsor money and we
would appreciate it if monies and forms were returned to Pupil Reception as soon as
possible. The money raised will go towards a new school minibus.
Congratulations are given to our staff and pupils for a fantastic Summer Music Showcase
Evening that took place this week. Pupils from all years performed musical pieces across
a range of styles and the audience were impressed by the quality of work produced. Thanks.
Letters have been issued for our Drama Summer School which takes place in the first week of the summer holidays. If you are in receipt of a letter then we would appreciate a prompt reply as soon as possible. The week long Summer School involves a visit to the National Museum of Film, Photography and Television and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Pupils who are sitting their Graded Musical Theatre exams this week are reminded to check their exam times and see Ms. Williams if they need additional rehearsal time. F8 and F9 are available for rehearsal this week if you wish.
Thanks to all the pupils who attended the Mask Making Workshop this week. A Pleasant session was enjoyed by the pupils and you are able to continue your work at lunchtimes or after school in the next few weeks if you wish.
We welcome pupils from Greenbank and Spotland Primary schools this week as we offer an adventurous Pursuits Arts Experience Workshop to Year 5 pupils from both schools. Sessions include Art Photography, Dance, Drama and Music Technology. Pupils will also receive a DVD from the practical sessions in Kayaking, Skiing, and climbing.
Letters are being issued this week for theatre visits to see ‘Our Day Out’ at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool in September and ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ at Bury Met in December. If you are interested in attending either of these theatre visits, please see Mr. DeCourcey in the CEPA office as soon as possible
