Sixty-mile cycle for city workers

A team of enthusiastic cyclists from Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce will be tackling the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride this weekend to raise money for the Christie charity.

Angela Roberts and Tina Devine from the Chamber Plus team and Bob Spendlove from the Chamber’s membership team will be taking part in the 60-mile bike ride on Sunday 4 July alongside 5,000 other cyclists.

In preparation for the event, Bob Spendlove completed a Birmingham to Oxford bike ride on Sunday 27 June. He finished the 77-mile ride in just over six and a half hours in support of The Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is now gearing up for his second charity bike ride in the space of a week.

Tina Devine, Strategic Purchasing Director for Chamber Plus, said:

“We are all really looking forward to the bike ride this weekend and have been training hard over the last few weeks. We know it’s going to be tough, but the Christie charity is close to all our hearts and we are determined to complete the ride and raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause.”
